Software and Technical Support Contract (STSC), E6651AS-1SY, entitles customers to software updates and access to technical support for a fixed duration (usually 1 year) and is referenced as E6651AS-1SY.
For units purchased on or before 1st May 2008 installation of firmware version 126.96.36.199 (or above) or 188.8.131.52 (or above) automatically installs an STSC (option 1SY) license which expires on 30th June 2009. At this time it will be necessary to renew the STSC to receive subsequent firmware releases and technical support. Units purchased after 1st May 2008 include 12 months support.
The following messages may be displayed when the test set is starting up.
This message is displayed to indicate the installation of the technical support license. Click Enter to continue.
This message is displayed when there are less than 90 days until the STSC license expires. Click Enter to continue.
This message is displayed when the STSC license has expired. Subsequent firmware updates cannot be installed on this test set without the purchase of a new STSC license. However you can continue to use the test set normally with the currently installed firmware. Click Enter to continue.
The expired license window is shown only on the first power-up after the license expires - it is not displayed during subsequent power-ups.
When the STSC has expired, the Get Exception Log feature of the E6651A is disabled.
This message is displayed when attempting to load new firmware onto the test set after the STSC license has expired. Please re-install an earlier release of firmware or install a new STSC license. Click Enter to continue.
