Documentation Conventions

The Agilent E6651A Test Set makes use of both front panel buttons, or hard keys, and a variable menu system displayed at the right of the display from which selection is made using one of the adjacent 6 softkeys.

To differentiate between front panel buttons, softkey labels, and the selected setting displayed below a softkey,  the following convention is used:

Front Panel Key

Front panel keys are shown in Bold. For example, the preset key is Preset.

Softkey Label

Softkey labels are shown with grey shading. For example, Run Test.

Selected parameter

The selected parameter is shown within '[]'. For example, [DL Ping Test] is the test selected from the available choices.

'Hot-spots' on Graphics

This help makes use of hot-spots on some of the displayed pictures. Text proceeding a picture will tell you to click on an area of interest in order to read the description. When you place your mouse over a hot-spot, the pointer changes to the pointing-finger hand normally associated with mousing over a hyperlink. The behaviour is identical.
