The instrument status area is found on the bottom center of the test set's display.
Status Area of the Test Set Display
Background
You can initiate more than one measurement at a time with the test set. The test set's display can show a maximum of 2 measurements. When 3 or more measurements are initiated, or the MEASUREMENT screen is not displayed, the Background annunciator reminds you that measurements are active but not displayed.
<Operating Mode> Status
The call processing status and the operating modes are displayed in this area. This area may change (depending on the application that is active) in order to provide application specific information.

The current system type is displayed in this area. This area may change (depending on the application that is active). It might be

Logging
This annunciator indicates whether or not your lab application is connected to Wireless Protocol Advisor. When your lab application is connected to Wireless Protocol Advisor
Logging: Active
is displayed, when your Lab Application is not connected to Wireless Protocol Advisor
Logging: Idle
is displayed. If your Application is a test application, this area is blank.
Sync Annunciators
These annunciators indicate whether the test set has successfully completed a synchronization. This annunciator can contain "
C OPC
", "
S OPC
" or "
CS OPC

DBUS - INT
This annunciator turns on when Option 004 hardware is installed and the application is a cdma2000, 1xEV-DO, or W-CDMA lab application that supports this functionality. For details, see the related links under Related Topics.
Shift
This annunciator indicates that the blue
SHIFT
key has been pressed, and that the next key you press performs the shifted function indicated, also in blue.
Int Ref/Ext Ref
When the internal time base is used (there is no suitable external time base connected to the rear panel 10MHz REF IN connector),
Int Ref
turns on. When a suitable external time base is connected to the rear panel 10MHz REF IN connector,
Ext Ref
turns on.
Offset
This annunciator indicates that the Amplitude Offset state is set to On. For details, see the related links under Related Topics.
R L T S
This annunciator indicates the state of four different conditions of the test set:

Remote annunciator. `
R
' turns on when the test set is operated remotely.

Listen annunciator. `
L
' turns on when the test set is listening to a command.

Talk annunciator. `
T
' turns on when the test set is providing information over GPIB.

SRQ annunciator. `
S
' turns on when an SRQ is active.
Help
When the Help functionality is active, this annunciator turns on. Use the
HELP
hardkey to activate/deactivate the Help functionality. When the help functionality is active, when you select a setting the associated GPIB command is displayed at the bottom of the screen.

This area is applicable to the 1xEV-DO applications. It indicates the current Physical Layer Subtype, either
