Local Testset Configuration
Local Testset Configuration
determines the carrier configuration of the local test set, whether it is in single mode or in multi-carrier mode, and if it is in the multi-carrier mode, whether it is the Main unit or an Auxiliary unit.

Main
: the local test set is configured as the Main unit (used for signaling) for multi-carrier multi-unit (MCMU) mode. It will be used to set and configure the main carrier parameters, along with which the auxiliary carrier parameters of the associated Aux unit(s).

Auxiliary
: the local test set is configured as an Auxiliary unit (referred to an Aux unit providing traffic channel but without signaling) for multi-carrier multi-unit (MCMU) mode. The Aux unit generates the Aux carrier whereas the Main unit coordinates the overall traffic connection and session (including any over-the-air settings that configure the Aux carrier). When a test set is configured as an Aux unit, it is partially controlled by the associated Main unit. You may not have access to some parameters on an Aux unit when in multi-carrier multi-unit configuration, see

for the detailed information.

Single
: the local test set is configured to operate as a single unit for single mode.
Note that the Local Testset Configuration is only allowed to be set if there is no traffic connection present.

Auto Setup External 8960 1 State

sets whether the External 8960 1 (Aux unit 1) is to be configured and connected automatically during
Automatic Multi-carrier Setup
in multi-carrier configuration.

Aux carriers Info parameters can only be set on the Main unit and will not be available on the Aux unit(s).
The value of the parameters in
Aux Carriers Info
menu is set on the Main unit and will be sent to the Aux unit(s) via LAN but can not be directly set on the Aux unit(s). See

Aux Carrier 1 Parms

Carrier State
Carrier State
sets the carrier state of the Aux unit 1. If the Aux unit 1 is connected with the Main unit, setting Carrier State to On indicates that the traffic connection between Aux unit 1 and AT can be setup. If the Carrier State is set to Off, the RF output of the aux unit 1 will be turned off.
When the test set is a Main unit or a Single unit, the
Local Carrier State
of the test set is fixed to

Channel
Channel
sets the channel number of the Aux unit 1, with the same description as it is on the Main unit. See

For multi-carrier operation, any carrier generated must not overlap. The center frequency for all carriers being generated at the same time must be spaced at least one channel bandwidth apart. For US Cellular, the channel spacing must be at least 1.23 MHz. For all other bands, the channel spacing must be at least 1.25 MHz.

Channel Drop Rank
When the AT is assigned multiple Reverse CDMA Channels, if it does not have sufficient power to sustain all the assigned Reverse CDMA Channels,
Channel Drop Rank
is used for the AT to stop transmission (drop) on a Reverse CDMA Channel with the lowest Channel Drop Rank.
The Channel Drop Rank value of the Main unit is fixed to the highest supported value(7, see
Fixed Settings
) to ensure that the AT will not attempt to drop the carrier from the Main unit when in multi-carrier connection, this is because that the Main unit is used for signaling with the AT.

is shown only on the Main unit to indicate the connection status of the associated external 8960 unit which is the same status as in LAN Connection Information window in

. When the External Device Status is Connected, the IP Address of the connected test set is also displayed after the status. Note that this is not included in Multicarrer Multi-Unit Connection Status window when the
Local Testset Configuration
is Auxiliary.
