Multi-carrier Multi-unit Setting Interactions
Last updated: June 18, 2009
This section is only applicable to the lab application and to a test application with the required feature license.
The Multi-carrier Multi-unit (MCMU) feature is unique in that some settings are shared between multiple units, some settings are set on one unit but also control another unit, some settings are unit-independent, and some settings are out-of-scope.
The following table details the setting categories, in which:
-
Category 1: Parameters and Results that can be set and updated independently on all units.
You must set the value on each unit to the desired value and the values can be set differently on each unit.
-
Category 2: Parameters that can only set on the Main unit and then be updated on the Aux Unit(s).
This means that the current parameter is set on the Main unit and will be sent to the associated Aux unit via LAN messages. The associated parameters on the Aux unit(s) will be updated according to the settings on the Main unit, however, you will not allowed to set the parameters directly on the Aux unit(s).
-
Category 3: Parameters or actions that can only be set on the Main unit and settings of which are rejected on the Aux Unit(s).
The difference from category 2 is in that the parameter is only effective on the Main unit but will not be `pushed' to the Aux unit(s).
-
Category 4: Results that are `pushed' from the Main unit to the Aux unit(s).
The results shown on the Aux unit(s) reflect the results which are sent via LAN messages from the Main unit.
-
Category 5: Results viewable only on the Main unit and will not be updated on the Aux unit(s).
-
Category 6: Parameters that can not be set on All Units.
