Power Control Step

Power Control Step

Last updated: May 24, 2006

Power control step (called RPC Step in C.S0024) represents the power control step size the access terminal shall use when controlling the power of its reverse link (by closed loop power control). This setting tells the access terminal how much to increase or decrease its power according to the received power control bit (see Reverse Closed Loop Power Control ).

Power control step is sent in the Configuration Request message (see TAP/ETAP Data Connection Call Flow ).

Power control step is a "Configurable Attribute" that is configured during the Session Negotiate State . Its value can not be changed when a session is open and Call Limit Mode is on. If power control step is changed when a connection is open, the connection will be closed. You will have to re-open the connection.
