RRI Gain Parameters

This section is only applicable to the lab application and to a test application with the required feature license.
The RRI Channel Gain parameters include seven settings: RRIChannelGainPreTransition0, RRIChannelGainPostTransition0, RRIChannelGainPreTransition1, RRIChannelGainPostTransition1, RRIChannelGainPreTransition2, RRIChannelGainPostTransition2, and RRIChannelGainPreTransition3. When the current physical layer subtype is subtype 2 (see
Release A Physical Layer Subtype
), these parameters used with the current T2P Transition value (see
T2P Transition Settings
) and current subpacket being transmitted determine the current R-RRI Channel gain (relative to R-Pilot channel).
The table below shows when the different RRI Channel Gain parameters are used to set the gain of the RRI Channel. The RRIChannelGainPreTransition
X
indicates the ratio of the power level of the R-RRI Channel relative to the power level of the R-Pilot Channel for those subpackets transmitted prior to the T2P Transition when T2P Transition value is X subpacket(s). For details on the T2P Transition, see
T2P Transition Settings
.

In Active Cell operating mode the RRI Channel Gain parameters are "Configurable Attributes" for the Subtype 3 Reverse Traffic Channel MAC Protocol. They are negotiated with the AT in the RRIChannelPowerParameters attribute during
Session Negotiate State
. When a session is open, changing these settings will result in a session re-negotiation. When a connection is open, changing these settings will result in the connection closed. You will have to re-open the connection. To determine when the Subtype 3 Reverse Traffic Channel MAC Protocol is active, see
Current Physical Layer Subtype and Associated Protocols
.
The power level of the R-RRI channel is determined by the current R-RRI Channel gain (see
Expected Power
).
