Session App Pre Configure

This section is only applicable to the lab application.

In the Multi-Flow Packet Application, the profile IDs are needed to use separate RLP flows, and the RTC MAC parameters are needed to make the flows behave differently from one another. Without these two things, the IP flows can only use the default flows of RLP and RTC MAC, everything will work but without QoS optimizations. So the users must specify hundreds of IP, RLP and RTC MAC parameters to get the desired QoS behavior. In order to help users set these parameters, Pre Configure settings are supported by the test set.

Pre Configure settings are immediate actions, executing them will set the associated parameter values regardless of the test set state. Session App Pre Configure sets parameters for IP and RLP Flows. This setting is accessible only when Physical Layer Subtype is Subtype 2 or Subtype 3. (See Release A Physical Layer Subtype or Release B Physical Layer Subtype ). When a session is open, applying a Pre No ChangeConfigure setting will result in a session re-negotiation (see Session Negotiate State for details).

When the Session Application Type is Test Application or Default Packet Application , three Session App Pre Configure settings are accessible: Preset Values Pre Configure , IS-856 Protocol Default Values Pre Configure and Test App/ Default Packet App Pre Configure . When the Session Application Type is M-Flow Packet Application , four Session App Pre Configure settings are accessible: Preset Values Pre Configure , IS-856 Protocol Default Values Pre Configure , MFPA Max Best Effort / VT 64k Pre Configure and MFPA Best Effort / VT 64k Pre Configure . When the Session Application Type is Enhanced M-Flow Pkt App , five Session App Pre Configure settings are accessible: Preset Values Pre Configure , IS-856 Protocol Default Values Pre Configure , EMPA Max Best Effort / VT 64k Pre Configure , EMPA Best Effort / VT 64k Pre Configure , and EMPA VoIP Pre Configure.

• Test App/ Default Packet App Pre Configure: used for Test Application or Default Packet Application configuration. This is configured for maximum throughput.
• MFPA Max Best Effort / VT 64k Pre Configure: used for Multi-Flow Packet Application with maximum throughput for Best Effort (on Flow00 for RLP and RTCMAC3) and typical configuration for Video64.
• MFPA Best Effort / VT 64k Pre Configure: used for Multi-Flow Packet Application with typical configuration for Best Effort and Video64k.
• Preset Values Pre Configure: used to set all values associated with Session Application PreConfig to the Testset preset values.
• IS-856 Protocol Default Values Pre Configure: used to set the values associated with Session Application PreConfig to the protocol default values as defined in C.S0024-B 1xEV-DO Air Interface Standards.
• EMPA Max Best Effort / VT 64k Pre Configure: used for Enhanced Multi-Flow Packet Application with maximum throughput for Best Effort (on Flow00 and Flow 01 for Link and RTCMAC3) and typical configuration for Video64.
• EMPA Best Effort / VT 64k Pre Configure: used for Enhanced Multi-Flow Packet Application with typical configuration for Best Effort and Video64.
• EMPA VoIP: Used for Enhanced Multi-flow Packet Application with typical configuration for Voice over IP application.
