This section is only applicable to the lab application.
The test set supports three types of IP connection with the access terminal (AT, or also the Device Under Test): IPv4, IPv6 and IPv4+IPv6. Before the AT initiates an IP connection (either IPv4 or IPv6 or both) with the test set, the DUT IP parameters must be correctly set. A typical DUT IP Setup parameters menu is shown as below.
For IPv4 addresses requirements, see IP Address Requirements , for IPv6 addresses requirements, see IPv6 Address Requirments .
This parameter specifies the IP version the test set supports during the connection setup with the DUT.
DUT IP Version
is set to
IPv4
, only an IPv4 connection is allowed to be set up between the test set and the DUT. Normal IPv4 operations are supported with parameters including:
DUT IP Address
,
Internal Mobile IP State
,
Home Agent Shared Secret (Hex)
,
DUT Primary DNS Server IP Address
,
DUT Secondary DNS Server IP Address
.
DUT IP Version
is set to
IPv6
, only an IPv6 connection is allowed to be set up between the test set and the DUT.
DUT IP Version
is set to
IPv4 + IPv6 (Dual)
, both IPv4 and IPv6 connections are allowed to be set up between the test set and the DUT. It is also allowed to set up a single IP connection (either IPv4 or IPv6) if the DUT only supports one IP version.
| NOTE |
Off
). If the
External PDSN State
is set to
On
, this setting will have no effect and only IPv4 connection will be set up. Changing this parameter will cause the PPP session to be closed.
DUT IP Version only affects OTA (over the air) negotiation between the test set and the DUT. The test set always supports both IPv4 and IPv6 via LAN connections.
GPIB Commands: CALL:MS:IP:VERSion
The DUT IPv6 Prefix is used to specify the IPv6 Prefix of the UE when the DUT IP Version is IPv4+IPv6 or IPv6. It is designed for the communication between the Testset and UE, instead of using the existing instrument's IPv6 Prefix.
This parameter is upper or the lower 4 bytes of DUT IPv6 Prefix. If you leave this parameter blank, the test set will assign an all-zero DUT IPv6 address prefix and an error will be displayed. You can only change the DUT IPv6 prefix when the data connection status is Idle.
