Set CDMA System Time on Trigger
Last updated: April 29, 2009
This section is only applicable to the lab application.
Description
The test set supports to precisely (within +/-50 ns accuracy) synchronize its CDMA2000 system time with an external trigger. This feature allows the test set to synchronize itself with an external device such as another test set, an signal generator etc.
To set the test set' s CDMA system time on trigger, you can use the GPIB command:
CALL:CELL:CSTime:TOETrigger
. When this operation is successfully made, the test set sets its CDMA system time to a given time exactly at the time when the external trigger is received. This is a single-time operation and it will take effects until something happens to break the synchronization (see
Operating Consideration
). If the CDMA system time is successfully set on the test set, the external trigger is no longer used.
The test set only accepts CDMA system time with even seconds, so before performing the time synchronization, you should make sure that the external device can provide an output trigger at a determinate time with even second.
This feature can be used to synchronize the test set with an external device such as a GPS source or an Agilent ESG signal source to perform A-GPS tests (See
Assisted GPS (A-GPS)
).
Performing Multi-Unit Synchronization
can also be used to synchronize among test sets.
