How Do I Ping a Device From the Test Set?

This section is only applicable to the lab application.
You can use the Ping feature to check the system interconnect:
Ping the DUT from the test set

From the test set front panel, press the
CALL SETUP
key.

Press the
Operating Mode
(
F1
) and set it to
Active Cell
.

Press the
System Type
(
F2
) and set it to
Active Cell
.
-
Press the left
More
key two times until Call Control 3 of 3 is displayed.
-
Press the
Data Channel Info
(
F2
) key.
-
Press the
Data Channel Parameters
(
F1
) key.
-
Enter the DUT IP address.
The DUT's IP address must be on the same subnet as the test set's IP Address. See
IP Address Requirements
.

Press
F6
(
Close Menu
) to close the Data Channel Parameters menu.
-
Press
F6
(
Return
), go back to Call Control 3 of 3 menus.
-
Press the
Ping
(
F3
) key.
-
Press the
Ping Setup
(
F1
) key and verify that
Device to Ping
is set to
DUT
. If required, set the
Ping Count
,
Timeout
, and
Packet Size
.

Establish a packet data connection (see
How Do I Originate a Packet Data Connection From My Wireless Device?
). For example, access the internet from the mobile station's web browser.

Press
Start Ping
(

) key when the Active Cell status area indicates
Connected +Data
or
Idle Dormant
.
Ping an alternate address from the test set

From the test set front panel, press the
CALL SETUP
key.

Press the
Operating Mode

) and set it to
Active Cell

) and set it to

Press the left

to your desired target IP address.
