CALL:SPARameter

Last updated: June 7, 2007

GPIB Command Conventions

CALL[:CELL[1]]:SPARameter:TADD

Function

Sets/queries T_Add.

T_Add is the pilot detection threshold used by a mobile station to trigger the sending of a Pilot Strength Measurement Message and to trigger the transfer of a pilot from the Neighbor Set or Remaining Set to the Candidate Set. A pilot should transfer from the mobile station's Neighbor Set or Remaining Set to the Candidate Set when the detected pilot strength exceeds T_Add multiplied by -0.5 dB relative to total RF power.

The value of this parameter is used in the IS-95 System Parameters Message, IS-2000 System Parameters Message, and the In-Traffic System Parameters Message.

When this value is changed the test set will increment the CONFIG_MSG_SEQ parameter and send the updated System Parameters Message. If a call is connected, an In-Traffic System Parameters Message is sent.

Setting

Range: 0 to 63

Query

Range: 0 to 63

*RST Setting

28

Requirements

Lab Application Revision: A.01 and above

Programming Example

OUTPUT 714;"CALL:CELL:SPAR:TADD 26" sets T_ADD to 26.

CALL[:CELL[1]]:SPARameter:TDRop

Function

Sets/queries T_Drop.

T_Drop is the pilot drop threshold parameter. This value is used by mobile stations to start a handoff drop timer for pilots in the Active Set and Candidate Set. If the power level of an Active set pilot is observed to fall below the T_Drop multiplied by -0.5 dB threshold for the period of time specified by CALL[:CELL[1]]:SPARameter:TTDRop the mobile station will send a Pilot Strength Measurement Message indicating the pilot status is "to drop".

When this value is changed the test set will increment the CONFIG_MSG_SEQ parameter and send the updated System Parameters message. If a call is connected, an In-Traffic System Parameters message shall be sent.

Setting

Range: 0 to 63

Query

Range: 0 to 63

*RST Setting

32

Requirements

Lab Application Revision: A.01 and above

Programming Example

OUTPUT 714;"CALL:CELL:SPAR:TDROP 30" !sets T_DROP to 30.

CALL[:CELL[1]]:SPARameter:TCOMp

Function

Sets/queries T_Comp.

T_Comp is the Active Set versus Candidate Set comparison threshold. Mobile stations send a Pilot Strength Measurement Message when the strength of a pilot in the Candidate Set exceeds that of a pilot in the Active Set by this margin multiplied by 0.5 dB.

When this value is changed the test set will perform the standard operation for updating the contents of the system parameter messages.

Setting

Range: 0 to 15

Query

Range: 0 to 15

*RST Setting

5

Requirements

Lab Application Revision: A.01 and above

Programming Example

OUTPUT 714;"CALL:CELL:SPAR:TCOM 6" sets T_Comp to 6.

CALL[:CELL[1]]:SPARameter:TTDRop

Function

Sets/queries T_Tdrop.

T_Tdrop is a base station controlled parameter that specifies the duration of the timer that mobile station's use to remove pilots from the Active or Candidate sets. If the power level of an Active set pilot is observed to fall below the T_Drop threshold for the time interval indicated by T_Tdrop (4 seconds when T_Tdrop = 3) the mobile station will send a Pilot Strength Measurement Message indicating the Active pilot status is "to drop".

When this value is changed the test set will perform the standard operation for updating the contents of the system parameter messages. If a call is connected, an In-Traffic System Parameters message shall be sent.

Setting

Range: 0 to 15

Query

Range: 0 to 15

*RST Setting

3

Requirements

Lab Application Revision: A.01 and above

Programming Example

OUTPUT 714;"CALL:CELL:SPAR:TTDR 4" sets T_Tdrop to 4.

CALL[:CELL[1]]:SPARameter:SOFT[:SLOPe]

Function

Sets/queries Soft_Slope.

Soft_Slope allows the setting of the SOFT_SLOPE parameter in the IS-95 Extended System Parameters Message and the IS-2000 Extended System Parameters Message.

When this setting's value is changed, the test set will perform the normal operation of updating the system parameters. If a call is connected, an In-Traffic System Parameters message shall be sent.

Setting

Range: 0 to 63

Query

Range: 0 to 63

*RST Setting

0

Requirements

Lab Application Revision: A.01 and above

Programming Example

OUTPUT 714;"CALL:CELL:SPAR:SOFT 1" sets Soft_Slope to 1.

CALL[:CELL[1]]:SPARameter:ADD[:INTercept]

Function

Sets/queries Add_Intercept.

Add_Intercept allows the setting of the ADD_INTERCEPT parameter in the IS-95 Extended System Parameters Message and the IS-2000 Extended System Parameters Message.

When this setting's value is changed, the test set will perform the normal operation of updating the system parameters.

Setting

Range: -32 to 31

Query

Range: -32 to 31

*RST Setting

0

Requirements

Lab Application Revision: A.01 and above

Programming Example

OUTPUT 714;"CALL:CELL:SPAR:ADD 1" sets Add_Intercept to 1.

CALL[:CELL[1]]:SPARameter:DROP[:INTercept]

Function

Sets/queries Drop_Intercept.

Drop_Intercept allows the setting of the DROP_INTERCEPT parameter in the IS-95 Extended System Parameters Message and the IS-2000 Extended System Parameters Message.

When this setting's value is changed, the test set will perform the normal operation of updating the system parameters. If a call is connected, an In-Traffic System Parameters message shall be sent.

Setting

Range: -32 to 31

Query

Range: -32 to 31

*RST Setting

0

Requirements

Lab Application Revision: A.01 and above

Programming Example

OUTPUT 714;"CALL:CELL:SPAR:DROP 1" sets Drop_Intercept to 1.
