Setting External Trigger
Last updated: October 28, 2004
External trigger type selects the trigger that is routed to the rear panel
TRIG OUT
port (see
Rear Panel Connectors
). The triggers are based off of the internal clocks/references of the test set and are the same signals that are used to trigger the measurements and call processing functionality.

Function Dependent. The frequency and timing of trigger depends upon the set of measurements (such as Handoff Waveform Quality, Waveform Quality + Code Domain, Code Channel Time/Phase Error, Time Response of Open Loop Power Control and Tx Dynamic Power. See
Triggering of Measurements
.) and trigger generating operations that are currently being performed by the test set (for example, the trigger is produced coincident with the transmission of the first power control bit in a closed loop power control transient. See
Starting the Reverse CLPC Transient
.).

External trigger type can be changed at any time.
In addition to the user selected external trigger type, there is also a fixed external trigger that is always present at the
BASEBAND I/O
port, which triggers each time a power control bit is generated.
