How Do I Change Cell Information?

The cell information includes several types of parameters:

A. Control Channel Parameters

To change the control channel parameters, follow the procedure below.

1. Select the Control Channel Parameters menu.

  1. Press the CALL SETUP key.
  2. Press the More key until you reach Control 2 of 5 menu (Lab Application) or Control 2 of 3 menu (Test Application)
  3. Select the Cell Info ( F2 ).
  4. Select the Control Channel Parameters ( F1 ). The Control Channel Parameters menu is displayed.

2. Set a control channel parameter.

  1. Highlight the Control Channel Configuration and press the knob.
    • If IS-2000 is currently selected in the System Type ( F2 ) and 7 (IS-2000-A) is selected in the Protocol Rev ( F10 ), either F-PCH/R-ACH or F-BCCH/F-CCCH/R-EACH can be selected.

         
      NOTE
      The selection of the Control Channel Configuration is only available for protocol revision 7 and above. See Protocol Revisions for details.

         

      • When F-BCCH/F-CCCH/R-EACH is selected, the F-BCCH/F-CCCH related parameters are displayed in the Control Channel Parameters menu. Also, the F3 softkey is labeled as Enhanced Access Parms (see C. Access Parameters or Enhanced Access Parameters for details) and the Cell Information screen is updated with the F-BCCH/F-CCCH/R-EACH related information.
      • When F-PCH/R-ACH is selected, the paging channel related parameters are displayed in the Control Channel Parameters menu. Also, the F3 softkey is labeled to Access Parameters (see C. Access Parameters or Enhanced Access Parameters for details) and the Cell Information screen is updated with the F-PCH/R-ACH related information.
    • If IS-2000 is currently selected in the System Type ( F2 ) and 6 (IS-2000-0) is selected in the Protocol Rev ( F10 ), the paging channel related parameters are displayed in the Control Channel Parameters menu.
  2. Turn the knob to highlight a parameter and then press the knob.
  3. Enter a value or selection and press the knob.
  4. Press the Close Menu ( F6 ) key.
  5. Press the Return ( F6 ) key.

B. Cell Parameters

To change the cell parameters, follow the following procedure.

1. Select the Cell Parameters menu.

  1. Press the CALL SETUP key.
  2. Press the More key until you reach Call Control 2 of 5 (in Lab Application) or Call Control 2 of 3 (in Test Application).
  3. Press the Cell Info ( F2 ) key.
  4. Press the Cell Parameters ( F2 ) key.

2. Set a cell parameter.

  1. Turn the knob to highlight a parameter and then press the knob.
  2. Enter a value or selection and press the knob.
  3. Press the Close Menu ( F6 ) key.
  4. Press the Return ( F6 ) key.

C. Access Parameters or Enhanced Access Parameters

To change the access or enhanced access parameters, follow the procedure below.

1. Select the Access Parameters menu or the Enhanced Access Parameters menu.

  1. Press the CALL SETUP key.
  2. Press the More key until you reach Control 2 of 5 menu (Lab Application) or Control 2 of 3 menu (Test Application).
  3. Press the Cell Info ( F2 ) key.
  4. Depending upon the current selection of the control channel configuration (see A. Control Channel Parameters ), the F3 is labeled to Access Parameters or Enhanced Access Parms by which the Access Parameters or the Enhanced Access Parameters menu can be accessed.

2. Set an access parameter or an enhanced access parameter.

  1. Turn the knob to highlight a parameter and then press the knob.
  2. Enter a value or selection and press the knob.
  3. Press the Close Menu ( F6 ) key.
  4. Press the Return ( F6 ) key.

D. Registration Parameters

To change the registration parameters, follow the procedure below.

1. Select the Registration Parameters menu.

  1. Press the CALL SETUP key.
  2. Press the More key until you reach Control 2 of 5 menu (Lab Application) or Control 2 of 3 menu (Test Application).
  3. Press the Cell Info ( F2 ) key until you reach Control 2 of 5 menu (Lab Application) or Control 2 of 3 menu (Test Application).
  4. Press the Registration Parameters ( F4 ) key.

2. Set a registration parameter.

  1. Turn the knob to highlight a parameter and then press the knob.
  2. Enter a value or selection and press the knob.
  3. Press the Close Menu ( F6 ) key.
  4. Press the Return ( F6 ) key.

E. CDMA System Time Parameters

To change the CDMA system time, follow the procedure below.

1. Select the CDMA System Time Parameters menu

  1. Press the CALL SETUP key.
  2. Press the More key until you reach Control 2 of 5 menu (Lab Application) or Control 2 of 3 menu (Test Application).
  3. Press the Cell Info ( F2 ) key.
  4. Press the CDMA System Time / Sync Info ( F5 ) key.
  5. Press the CDMA System Time Parms ( F1 ) key.

2. Set CDMA System Time

  1. Turn the knob to highlight a parameter and then press the knob.
  2. Enter a value and press the knob.

       
    NOTE
    You can use a simple way to set the CDMA system time from the front panel. For example, to set the CDMA system time to January 1, 2002 2:00 PM, you can simply enter 2000.1.1 in the CDMA System Time (Date) field and enter 14 in the CDMA System Time (Time) field.

       

  3. Press the Close Menu ( F6 ) key.
  4. Press the Return ( F6 ) key.
