Tx Timing Advance

Description

Last updated: July 29, 2008

When a component with excessive RF delay (for example, repeater) is included in the test environment, a loop back delay will be introduced on the signal path. Tx Timing Advance is set in unit of 1/4 chip (corresponding to quadruple chip rate) on the test set to compensate the loop back delay.

Tx Timing Advance specifies the amount of Tx timing adjustment of the test set. The actual time of the Tx Timing Advance is also displayed in us corresponding to the Tx Timing Advance in 1/4 chip. You can accommodate the external loop back delay by increasing the Tx Timing Advance.

NOTE
You can not change the Tx Timing Advance when the Active Cell status field is not Idle, otherwise the connection with the AT will be dropped.

Manual Operation:

Tx Timing Adv can be set by selecting F11 on the Call Parms 4 of 4 menu from the CALL SETUP screen,
