Test Set Lockup During Power Up Sequence

Test Set Lockup During Power Up Sequence

Last updated: February 3, 2005

Description

Loading application firmware onto your test set that is not compatible with your test set's hardware configuration can cause your test set to lock up when you attempt to switch to that application.

For information on application firmware and test set hardware compatibility, see:

Test sets shipped after February, 2004 include a lockup recovery utility in the event that a test set lockup occurs. If you tried to switch to an incompatible application and your test set locked up during its power up sequence, turn the test set off. Turn the test set back on, and when the following text is displayed:

"Press `SYSTEM CONFIG' key to enter application selection utility."

press the SYSTEM CONFIG key.

If you press the SYSTEM CONFIG key within five seconds from the time this message is first displayed, a menu of installed applications will be displayed allowing you to select another application.

Select an application that is compatible with your test set's hardware by entering the appropriate number listed on the display using the DATA ENTRY keys.
