User Configurable Paging Parameters

The following table lists the GPIB Commands to set the Paging Parameters . Please click the Paging Parameter's corresponding GPIB command link for more information on the Paging Parameter. The GPIB Command tables give a description of the parameter, as well as valid settings and firmware requirements.

All of the parameters listed below are located in the Cell Parameters menu of the test set's front panel. See How Do I Change Paging Parameters? for the procedure to configure the cell parameters. Refer to the Operating Considerations below before attempting to configure the cell parameters.

Parameter

* Only applicable to the lab applications.

Operating Considerations

The test set's default paging parameters should allow a properly functioning mobile station to successfully camp on the cell and make a connection under most circumstances.

Parameters can be queried from the test set regardless of the state of the test set.

Paging Identity Type, TMSI Assignment, and the TMSI value can only be configured when the Call Status is Idle and the Data Connection Status is Idle or Attached. The TMSI value is only accessible via the front panel when the Paging Identity Type is set to TMSI or when TMSI Assignment is set to On . Paging Identity Type, TMSI Assignment, and the TMSI value only apply when the test set's Operating Mode is Active Cell (GSM, GPRS or EGPRS).

The TMSI value used for both test sets in a Two-Cell Test System is the TMSI setting in the test set that initiates the External Device Connection. The TMSI setting is greyed out in the test set that does not initiate the External Device Connection for the entire duration that the test sets are connected. Changes to the TMSI value via GPIB are not applied to the test set that did not initiate the External Device Connection until the connection between has terminated.

For more information about the Paging Mode, Paging Multiframes, and Repeat Paging parameters, see Configuring Mobile Station Operating Parameters .
