Logging Digital Audio Interface (DAI) Messages

Logging Digital Audio Interface (DAI) Messages

Last updated: December 3, 2008

This section is only applicable to the lab applications.

You can use the Wireless Protocol Advisor (WPA) to observe and analyze messages and information related to Digital Audio Interface.

WPA help is accessible from WPA by clicking the help button or for download at: http://www.agilent.com/find/e6584a

Follow the procedure below for setting up the DAI logging test:

  1. Starts the WPA
  2. Starts a voice call
  3. Starts the WPA logging
  4. Set the DAI test interface to Speech Decoder
  5. Set the DAI test interface to Encoder
  6. Set the DAI test interface to Acoustic
  7. Set the DAI test interface to Off.

See How to use the Digital Audio Interface Features for instructions on how to execute each step. You will see the following protocol log after you finish it.

The captured log allows you to determine exactly what is being exchanged between the test set and the mobile station. In this example, an Test_Interface message was sent from the test set to the mobile station four times. You can look in the decode of the captured message to verify all the parameters associated with that message. For more information about the Test_Interface message, see 3GPP TS 44.014, Section 8.11.
