How Do I Set Up and Use the Configurable Timers?

This section details how to:

Configure the T3212 Periodic Location Update Timer

This procedure details how to configure the T3212 Periodic Location Update Timer.

  1. Press Call Setup .
  2. Press Operating Mode ( F1 ) and select Cell Off .
  4. Press More on the bottom left side of the screen until menu 2 of 3 of Control is displayed.
  5. Press Protocol Control ( F4 ).
  6. Press GMM/MM ( F4 )
  7. Press More on the bottom left side of the screen until menu 2 of 2 of GMM/MM is displayed.
  8. Press LAU Setup ( F1 )
  9. Use the knob to scroll down the menu options and find the T3212 Period Location Update Timer parameter.
  10. Press Close Menu (F6).
  11. Press Return (F6).

Configure the T3312 Periodic Routing Area Update Timer

This procedure details how to configure the T3312 Periodic Routing Area Update Timer.

  1. Press Call Setup .
  3. Press More on the bottom left side of the screen until menu 2 of 3 of Control is displayed.
  4. Press Protocol Control ( F4 ).
  5. Press GMM/MM ( F4 )
  6. Press More on the bottom right side of the screen until menu 2 of 2 of GMM/MM is displayed.
  7. Press RAU Setup ( F2 )
  8. Use the knob to scroll down the menu options and find the T3312 Period RA Update Timer parameter.
  9. Press Close Menu (F6).
  10. Press Return (F6).

Configure the T3314 GMM Ready Timer

This procedure details how to configure the T3314 GMM Ready Timer.

  1. Press Call Setup .
  3. Press More on the bottom left side of the screen until menu 2 of 3 of Control is displayed.
  4. Press Protocol Control ( F4 ).
  5. Press GMM/MM ( F4 )
  6. Press More on the bottom left side of the screen until menu 2 of 2 of GMM/MM is displayed.
  7. Press GMM Parameters ( F3 )
  8. Use the knob to scroll down the menu options and find the T3314 GMM Ready Timer parameter.
  9. Press Close Menu (F6).
  10. Press Return (F6).

Configure the Call Originate Timer (T301) and the Call Release Timer (T308)

This procedure details how to configure the Call Originate Timer (T301) and the Call Release Timer (T308).

  1. Press Call Setup .
  2. Press Paging Parameters ( F5 ).
  3. Use the knob to scroll down the menu options and find the T308 Call Release Timer or T301 Call Originate Timer parameter.
  4. Press Close Menu (F6).
  5. Press Return (F6).

Configure the T3192 TBF Release Timer

This procedure details how to configure the T3192 TBF Release Timer.

  1. Press Call Setup .
  2. Press Operating Mode ( F1 ) and select Cell Off .
  3. Press More on the bottom left side of the screen until menu 2 of 3 of Control is displayed.
  4. Press Protocol Control ( F4 ).
  5. Press RLC/MAC ( F2 )
  6. Press TBF Control ( F5 )
  7. Use the knob to scroll down the menu options and find the T3192 TBF Release Timer parameter.
  8. Press Close Menu (F6).
  9. Press Return (F6).
