The BEP_PERIOD2 field contains a constant which is used for filtering channel quality measurements in EGPRS. |

. NOTE: CALL:BCHannel:MS:TXLevel:DCS must be set to 0 or this power offset command has no effect. Each unit parameter equates to an additional 2 dB power increase. The offset settings are:
"0" = 0 dB,
"1" = 2 dB,
"2" = 4 dB,
"3" = 6 dB.
This can only be set when the Cell Operating Mode parameter is set to Off (see

).

This parameter must be set to 0 if you want to use the DCS power offset command

This command sets/queries the Network Control Order parameter.
The Network Control Order parameter sets the level of control the network has to control measurement reporting and cell reselection. There are three settings:
-
NC0 - allows the mobile station (MS) to perform autonomous cell reselections, which is normal mobile station control. NOTE: The MS does not send measurement reports to the network.
-
NC1 - The MS performs autonomous cell reselection and sends measurement reports to the network.
-
NC2 - The MS sends measurement reports to the network and does not perform autonomous cell reselection unless triggered downlink signaling failure or random access failure.
Network Control Order determines how the MS should perform cell reselections. If the Network Control Order has been set to NC0 or NC1 at the test set to which the MS is GPRS attached has the Network Control Order set to NC2, autonomous cell reselection may not be performed by the MS as a result of invalid BCH configuration.

This command sets/queries the minimum RX Access Level. This parameter sets the minimum received signal level at the mobile station required for the mobile station to access the two cell test system.
The measured signal level shall be mapped to an RXLEV value between 0 and 63, as follows: RXLEV 0 = less than 110 dBm + SCALE. RXLEV 1 = 110 dBm + SCALE to 109 dBm + SCALE. RXLEV 2 = 109 dBm + SCALE to 108 dBm + SCALE. : : RXLEV 62 = 49 dBm + SCALE to 48 dBm + SCALE. RXLEV 63 = greater than 48 dBm + SCALE.where SCALE is an offset that is used in the ENHANCED MEASUREMENT REPORT and PACKET ENHANCED MEASUREMENT REPORT messages, otherwise it is set to 0.
The MS shall use the SCALE value as indicated by the parameter SCALE_ORD in the MEASUREMENT INFORMATION, PACKET CELL CHANGE ORDER and PACKET MEASUREMENT ORDER messages. If automatic scaling mode is indicated by SCALE_ORD, the MS shall choose the lowest SCALE value that is sufficient for reporting the strongest signal level within each ENHANCED MEASUREMENT REPORT or PACKET ENHANCED MEASUREMENT REPORT message. The serving cell command sets what information is broadcast on the broadcast channel. It can be set to either GSM, GPRS, or EGPRS to provide GPRS capabilities.
NOTE: If only one TA is licensed, the serving cell will be fixed to the only valid setting. For example, if only the GSM TA is licensed, the only available serving cell is GSM.
Setting the serving cell to GSM will hide GPRS features and a GPRS mobile will not see the serving cell as GPRS capable and therefore, will not attempt to attach.
When the setting is GPRS, EGPRS features are hidden and an EGPRS mobile does not see the serving cell as being EGPRS capable. However, an EGPRS mobile should still be able to attach using GMSK modulation coding schemes (MCS1 through MCS4).
When the setting is EGPRS, GPRS features are hidden and a GRPS mobile will not be able to attach to the test set. Use the GPRS setting in this situation.
You can still send GPIB commands to the test set which control functions associated with the serving cell that is not active. However, these settings are not applied until the serving cell is changed.
The: SCELl query command returns the current serving cell setting.
This parameter can only be set when the Operating Mode parameter is set to Off (see

This command sets or returns the serving cell. The serving cell defines the type of information that is broadcast on the broadcast channel. It can be set to either GSM, GPRS or EGPRS.
When the setting is GPRS, EGPRS features are hidden and an EGPRS mobile does not see the serving cell as being EGPRS capable. However, an EGPRS mobile should still be able to attach using GMSK modulation coding schemes (MCS1 through MCS4).
If you set this command to a value other than EGPRS, you can still send GPIB commands to the test set which control EGPRS functions. However, these settings are not applied until the serving cell is set to EGPRS.
