GSM TA

IT IS RECOMMENDED to use CALL[:CELL]:BCHannel:MS:POWer:OFFSet:DCS instead in order to fit more consistently with the new commands. This command remains valid to facilitate backwards compatibility.

This command defines an additional offset value that is used to increase the Max CCHannel value for DCS band only. See Access Burst Power Control . NOTE: CALL:MS:TXLevel:CCHannel:DCS must be set to 0 or this power offset command has no effect. Each unit parameter equates to an additional 2 dB power increase. The offset settings are:
"0" = 0 dB,
"1" = 2 dB,
"2" = 4 dB,
"3" = 6 dB.

This can only be set when the Cell Operating Mode parameter is set to Off (see CALL:OPERating:MODE ).

GSM/GPRS LA

This command sets/queries the mobile station's internet protocol (IP) address 1, 2, 3 or 4 respectively. The address is the IP v4 address written in dotted decimal format, for example 147.123.159.15. The entered address must be on the same subnet as the test set (but it cannot have an identical address). The subnet is defined through the combination of the test set's LAN IP address ( SYSTem:COMMunicate:LAN[:SELF]:ADDRess[:IP4] ) and its subnet mask ( SYSTem:COMMunicate:LAN[:SELF]:SMASk[:IP4] ). The IP address can not be the same as any other IP.

Values entered for this command are stored in non-volatile memory and will persist after the instrument is reset or power-cycled.

Any part of this address with leading zeros (for example, 145.156.063.12) will have the leading zeros removed. Most operating systems treat parts of IP addresses entered with leading zeros as octal numbers, the test set does not.

If the DUT IP Address is NULL, network route traffic can not be routed to the DUT regardless of the DUT Routing State setting. If the DUT IP Address is subsequently set to a valid entry, the user can not change the DUT Routing State setting. And the DUT Routing State is applied automatically and the network route traffic is passed through to the DUT.

This command can not be set to ON if an external 8960 is connected. If you tries to do this, the Operation rejected error message is displayed. Conversely, an extend 8960 can not be connected if this command is already set to ON. If you tries to do this, the Operation rejected error message is displayed.

• The value that represents the supported EGPRS Dual Transfer Mode multislot class.
• The values indicates if half rate operation is supported within the Dual Transfer Mode class. A returned value of 1 indicates that the mobile station supports half rate operation in Dual Transfer Mode. A returned value of 0 indicates the mobile station does not support half rate operation in Dual Transfer Mode.

NAN indicates that no Dual Transfer Mode class information has been supplied by the mobile station. When no Dual Transfer Mode information has been supplied by the mobile station, this query returns a 0 for the half rate operation parameter.

If no cell band is specified, the results for this command are returned for the cell band that is currently selected on the test set. If a cell band is specified, the results for this command are the most recent values for the specified cell band.

This command queries the mobile station reported received quality from the SACCH report. Each time the :NEW? query is sent the test set hangs until report results from that measurement period are sent or until 10 seconds have elapsed at which point the test set times out.

This will return 3 variables; the first two are ignored while the value from the third new query is the valid variable.

This command queries for the frequency bands supported by the mobile station. A comma separated list of supported bands is listed following each location update. If you change bands and do a subsequent query, the new band will be appended to the list of bands if not already present in the list. It is recommended you perform a GPRS attach procedure which provides a more comprehensive band list (if the phone is capable and the TA or LA is GPRS licensed) to yield the best possible supported band information. It is also recommended that you clear this band information when you change phones using the CALL:MS:REPorted:CLEar command to prevent the return of band information from the previous phone.
