How is an Audio Level measurement made?
Audio Level measures the AC voltage of the signal applied to the front-panel AUDIO IN connectors, and is one of the Analog Audio measurements. Audio Level can be measured for signals in the frequency range of
100 Hz to 20 kHz, at levels from 7.1 mV
peak
to 20V
peak
. The measurement is made after any filtering is applied, and can be made using an RMS or Peak detector. The type of detector being used for the measurement is displayed next to the measurement value.
When measuring very low voltages, it may be helpful to use the adjustable bandpass filter and the rms detector to reduce noise components.
