Possible Setup Issues
The EDGE Dynamic Power (EDP) measurement parameter set up parameters and results are only accessible via the GPIB interface.
When the EDP measurement is initiated it aborts and closes all other measurements that are currently running.
The EDP measurement only supports measurement on normal bursts in a single slot configuration. Measurement of RACH bursts is not supported.
All bursts in the ramp segment must be generated at the same frequency.
The Expected Maximum Difference (EMD) between power levels of successive bursts is given in dB. This value must be accurate for meaningful measurement results.
If the Expected Modulation Format is GMSK, the measurement method will always be Burst Power. For information on changing the Expected Modulation Format see
Modulation Format Control (EGPRS only)
.
Although no integrity values indicating a burst was over or under range are returned as long as the measured power for a particular burst is within 6 dB of the expected power, the measurement accuracy is only guaranteed if the measured power is within 3 dB of the expected power.
The EDP measurement employs midamble synchronization for both GMSK and 8PSK modulation formats, however it will complete with out the presence of a midamble. When a midamble is not found, integrity indicator 11 is returned.
