Downlink Channel (UARFCN)
Last updated: February 3, 2009
DL Channel
The
DL Channel
setting specifies the downlink UTRA Absolute RF Channel Number (UARFCN). This determines at what frequency the test set's RF generator will transmit the downlink signal.
The relationship between UARFCN and downlink frequency is described in 3GPP TS 25.101 section 5.

* Ensure that the
Transmit SIB5bis
parameter is set accordingly for your UE.
|
When in
FDD Test
operating mode, the downlink frequency can also be set by setting
RF Gen Freq Ctrl
to
Manual
and then manually entering the
RF Gen Freq
.
To set the downlink channel number via GPIB command, see
CALL:CHANnel
.
Operating Considerations
-
This setting cannot be changed while in active cell operating mode. Attempting to change this setting while in this mode results in an error and the test set rejects the change. Use the
Cell Off
operating mode when changing this setting. See
CALL:OPERating
to select operating modes.
-
To hand over to a new downlink channel while on a connection, you must perform a
Physical Channel Reconfiguration
,
Transport Channel Reconfiguration
or
Radio Bearer Reconfiguration
. After successful completion of a handover to a new DL UARFCN, the
DL Channel
setting is overwritten with the value of the handover downlink channel
.
-
If the
DL Channel
setting results in an UL/DL offset of less than 30 MHz when compared with the
Uplink Channel
setting, the warning message "Performance not specified for UL/DL frequency offset <30 MHz" is issued.
