Short Message Service (SMS)

Last updated: January 15, 2009

This section is only applicable to the lab application or feature-licensed test application.

The Short Message Service (SMS) testing capability available in the test set allows you to test both the cell broadcast and point-to-point (mobile terminated and mobile originated messages) SMS capability of your mobile station. The point-to-point testing capability is extensive, including support for concatenated and binary SMS applications like WAP Push, MMS notifications, ringtones, picture messaging, as well as character based languages such as Chinese, Japanese, and Hebrew. In addition to the standard GPIB and front panel interface, an HTTP interface is available providing easy connectivity with commercially available SMS Gateways. Support is also available for capturing logs of the protocol messages exchanged between the test set and the mobile station during SMS verification.
