How to use the UMA/GAN Features

This section is only applicable to the lab applications.

This section describes general procedures for performing the UMA/GAN Test from the test set's front panel.

1. Connect the GANC to the test set. The "ExtDev" is displayed on the front panel when the connection between the test set and the GANC has been established. Refer to the Help File for the GANC software for details on how to set up the connection between the test set and the GANC.

   IMPORTANT: Save the file to your desktop. For Windows XP, right-click on the file and select Properties>>Unblock.

2. The "Sys Type" field displays "GAN" when the current access stratum used by the mobile station is GAN.
3. The Voice/Data connection status display fields are used to report the current core network voice and data connection status to the MS regardless of the underlying access technology (GAN or GERAN).
