Out-of-Synch Handling of Output Power Troubleshooting
Last updated: January 16, 2009
This section is only applicable to the lab application.
Possible Setup Issues
-
The
Out-of-Synch Handling of Output Power
measurement does not return any measurement results at this time. Initiating the measurement only causes the test set to change its DPCCH_Ec/Ior as specified by the
Out-of-Synch Handling of Output Power Measurement Parameters
. You must use an external spectrum analyzer to measure the UE's resulting output power. When the
Out-of-Synch Handling of Output Power
measurement is initiated from the test set, the test set generates a trigger at point A that you can route to the test set's rear panel
TRIG OUT
connector using the
Trigger Output Setup
setting, to trigger the spectrum analyzer. See
How Do I Make an Out-of-Synch Handling of Output Power Measurement?
.
-
Before performing the out-of-synch measurement, you must:
-
Connect the test set's rear panel
TRIG OUT
port to the rear panel
TRIGGER IN
port of an external spectrum analyzer (the external spectrum analyzer is required to measure the UE's output power and obtain measurement results, see
Out-of-Synch Handling of Output Power Measurement Results
).
-
Connect the UE to the test set's
RF IN/OUT
port and to the spectrum analyzer's
RF INPUT
port via an RF splitter, and specify the loss due to the RF splitter in both the test set and the spectrum analyzer.
-
Set
Trigger Output Setup
to
Measurement Generated
.
-
Establish a
Radio Bearer Test Mode
connection (3GPP TS 34.121 5.4.4 specifies a 12.2k RMC connection). This measurement is not supported on HSDPA or HSPA connections.
-
The following settings are recommended based on the 3GPP TS 34.121 5.4.4 requirements. Note that some of these parameters must be set before establishing a connection.
-
During front panel operation of this measurement, you must press the
START SINGLE
key to initiate the measurement.
