2 Channel Coherence Measurement of a WLAN MIMO device (2 minutes, 17 seconds)

Coherence is a measure of the similarity in spectrum energy between two signals, as a function of time. It is an important factor in a MIMO radio system because it determines how successful the receiver will be in isolating the transmitted signals. This video demonstrates the differences between two packets transmitted from a WLAN MIMO device using the 89600 Series vector signal analysis (VSA) software to perform a 2-channel coherence measurement.

2 Channel Cross Correlation Measurement of a WLAN MIMO device (2 minutes, 17 seconds)

MIMO radio systems use time delays between channels to improve the signal diversity. This makes the task of the receivers a little easier. The delays may vary dynamically during the transmitted packets. A correlation measurement shows the level of consistency in a signal over time. The 2 channel cross correlation measurement shown in this video using the 89600 VSA software, demonstrates how the transmitted signals from a WLAN MIMO device vary during the course of a single packet. Two different packets are examined.
