Normal mode provides a connection to the equipment under test in a manner similar to everyday use of the device.
An asynchronous connection-less (ACL) or synchronous connection-oriented (or SCO) link must be established between the test set and the equipment under test before any tests can be performed. In this mode hopping is always on. Normal mode tests are performed by the test set periodically transmitting POLL packets to the device, and analyzing the NULL packets which are returned by the EUT.
Compliant Bluetooth® tests can only be made with a test mode connection but the available tests performed with a normal mode connection can provide a good indication of performance. |
