The Dedicated Physical Channel Suite Setup Measurement Limits tab allows you to set limits and test tolerances for measurements in the Dedicated Physical Channel measurement suite.
Limits define the boundaries on which a measurement is considered to pass or fail.
Test tolerances, which are derived from uncertainties, regulatory requirements and criticality to system performance, are used to relax the minimum requirements specified in the standard. For information about test tolerances, refer to 3GPP TS 34.121 section F.2.
This parameter sets the limit applied to the pass/fail result for the mean power measurement in the Dedicated Physical Channel measurement suite.
The available limit configurations are:
Generic - This setting allows generic limits and test tolerances to be set. The limit value sets both the upper and lower limit for this measurement. The default settings used for this configuration are the default open loop settings described in 3GPP TS 34.121 section 5.4.1.2 (limits) and section F.2.1 (test tolerances).
Maximum Power - This setting allows you to set the upper and lower limit and test tolerance for the maximum output power. The minimum requirements are defined according to the power class of the wireless device. See 3GPP TS 34.121 section 5.2.2.

SCPI command: FETCh:WDPChannel:TSLot?
The Dedicated Physical Channel measurement suite will complete and meet its measurement accuracy specifications when the signal meets the following input signal conditions:
Typically, the Dedicated Physical Channel measurement suite performs autoranging. However, if the measured signal is within ±9 dB of the expected input level with ≤ 4 dB crest factor then autoranging is not performed and the fastest measurement time is achieved.
Mean Power and RRC Filtered Mean Power measurements:
Input signal level is between -65 dBm and +28 dBm
Adjacent Channel Leakage Ratio, Spectrum Emission Mask, and Occupied Bandwidth (OBW) measurement:
For this measurement the test set's receiver uses auto-ranging to adjust for the level of the signal being measured; therefore the expected signal level does not need to be specified during measurement setup. However, it is recommended that Expected Power be configured to match the actual signal level expected to ensure the auto-ranging procedure executes as quickly as possible.
The frequency of the signal being measured must be in the range of 800 MHz to 1000 MHz, or from 1700 MHz to 1990 MHz.
Input signal level into the test set's RF IN/OUT connector is between -25 dBm and +28 dBm, in a 3.84 MHz bandwidth
Error Vector Magnitude (EVM), Frequency Error, and Peak Code Domain Error (PCDE) measurements:
Maximum Frequency Error is ± 1 kHz
Maximum Error Vector Magnitude is 35% rms
Maximum Timing Error is ± 50 chips
The time error is determined as a result of minimizing the error vector between the measured and ideal signals. It is a measure of the timing error of the UE's transmission relative to the frame clock. The requirements for UE timing are defined in 3GPP TS 25.133 s7.1, which states "The uplink DPCCH/DPDCH frame transmission takes place approximately T0 chips after the reception of the first detected path (in time) of the corresponding downlink DPCCH/DPDCH or F-DPCH frame, from the reference cell". The time error reported by the test set does not include T0 (defined to be 1024 chips by 3GPP TS 25.211 s7.6.3). The time error is the error beyond 1024 chips.
Triggering choices available for the Dedicated Physical Channel measurement suite are RF Generator ARB, Immediate, and External.
You must perform alignments on the test set at regular intervals to maintain the specified performance of this measurement suite (see Alignment Overview).
