The Forward Traffic Rate determines the rate (and number of slots) at which the forward traffic packets are transmitted by the test set in IS-856 Test Operating Mode .
You must select a Forward Traffic Rate as listed in the table below to match your AT's configuration because there's no signaling exchanged between the AT and the test set when in IS-856 test mode. What you set (including forward data rate, number of slots per physical packet, as well as the corresponding modulation type) is then displayed on the Call Setup screen in the
Configuration Information
window.
Forward Traffic Data Rate (kbps) | Slots per Physical Packet | Modulation Type |
---|---|---|
38.4 | 16 | QPSK |
76.8 | 8 | QPSK |
153.6 | 4 | QPSK |
307.2 | 2 | QPSK |
307.2 | 4 | QPSK |
614.4 | 1 | QPSK |
614.4 | 2 | QPSK |
921.6 | 2 | 8-PSK |
1228.8 | 1 | QPSK |
1228.8 | 2 | 16-QAM |
1843.2 | 1 | 8-PSK |
2457.6 | 1 | 16-QAM |

Manual Operation: How Do I Change Parameters in IS-856 Test Operating Mode?
To set the forward traffic data rate in the Active Cell operating mode, see FTAP Rate .
