When in Active Cell operating mode, Idle State Subtype allows you to set either the
Default
or the
Enhanced
Idle state protocol to use in Subtype 2 or Subtype 3 Physical Layer Subtype. If the test set is configured to physical layer subtype 0, only the Default Idle State protocol is negotiated.
As defined by the C.S0024 standard, Idle State Protocol provides the procedures and messages used by the access terminal and the access network when the access terminal has acquired a network and a connection is not open.
Default (subtype 0)
, Default Idle state protocol, which provide for fixed slot cycle, is to be used during the session.
Enhanced (subtype 1)
, Enhanced Idle state protocol, which provide for shorter slot cycles, is to be used during the session, thus the test set support for small slot cycle and Slotted Mode Attributes can be configured. See
