Idle State Subtype

Idle State Subtype

Last updated: October 29, 2008

This section is only applicable to the lab application.

When in Active Cell operating mode, Idle State Subtype allows you to set either the Default or the Enhanced Idle state protocol to use in Subtype 2 or Subtype 3 Physical Layer Subtype. If the test set is configured to physical layer subtype 0, only the Default Idle State protocol is negotiated.

As defined by the C.S0024 standard, Idle State Protocol provides the procedures and messages used by the access terminal and the access network when the access terminal has acquired a network and a connection is not open.
