This section is applicable to the lab application and the test application.
The test set provides two methods to set the MS output power for a PS connection.
Set the a (alpha) and T ch (gamma) parameters. The MS output power is determined by the following arithmetic.
P CH = min[T 0 -T ch -a*(C+48), P MAX )]
This parameter specifies the method by which the MS output power is determined for a PS connection. The method used is either the directly setting of MS TX Level or the more complete solution relation to power control parameters a (alpha) and T ch (gamma).
The GPIB command to set the MS output power selection mode is CALL:(PDTCH|PDTChannel):MS:OPSMode .
The GPIB command to set the MS TX Level parameter is CALL:(PDTCH|PDTChannel):MS:TXLevel[:SELected]:BURSt<[1]|2|3|4|5> .
The GPIB command to set the Deferred MS TX Level parameter (which is used during the handover) is CALL:SETup:(PDTCH|PDTChannel):MS:TXLevel[:SELected]:BURSt<[1]|2|3|4|5> .
This parameter is systematic, broadcast on PBCCH or optionally sent to MS in an PLC control message. It determines the proportion of the measured broadcast channel to be used in the above arithmetic.
The GPIB command to set the Alpha parameter is CALL:(PDTCH|PDTChannel):MS:ALPHa .
This parameter is an MS and channel specific power control parameter, sent to the MS in an RLC control message. The gamma values are specified on a per timeslot basis, and the number of the uplink timeslots can be up to 5. Each set of gamma setting is available on a per band basis.
The GPIB command to set the Gamma Burst parameter is CALL:(PDTCH|PDTChannel):MS:GAMMa:BURSt<[1]|2|3|4|5>[:SELected] .
The GPIB command to set the Deferred Gamma Burst parameter is CALL:SETup:(PDTCH|PDTChannel):MS:GAMMa:BURSt<[1]|2|3|4|5>[:SELected] .
This procedure is only applicable to the lab application. This procedure describes how you manually configure the ARAC Control parameters in the test set.
The Alpha and Gamma parameters are only available when the operating mode is set to
Active Cell
