Measuring 3GPP TS Section 14.2.19 IFER

This procedure assumes that the BCH parameter for the Cell Band is set up correctly for your mobile station and the appropriate RF IN/OUT Amplitude Offsets have been set to offset loss between the mobile station and the test set. For more information see How Do I Configure the Test Set for My Test System? .

  1. Setup the General AMR Parameters. See General AMR Parameter Setup for instructions on how to set these parameters through the front panel.
  2. Select Originate Call ( F3 ) to make a mobile terminated call or originate a call from the mobile station.
  3. Press the Measurement Selection key.

  4. Choose AMR In-Band Frame Error . The AMR IFER measurement starts automatically as soon as it is selected.

    NOTE
There must be four codecs defined in the Active Codec Set (ACS) for the IFER measurement to initiate.

  5. Select IFER Setup ( F1 ) to set the measurement specific parameters.

  6. Verify the measurement results meet the conformance requirements in 3GPP TS section 14.2.19, tables 14.2.19-1 and 14.2.19-2, depending on which cell band your mobile station is operating in. The minimum number of samples for any cell band is 150000, however the test limit error rate is defined separately according to the cell band.
