The test set's Windows settings have been optimized for best performance. Any modifications to these settings may degrade the test set's performance and measurement speed. In general, most Windows settings (typically set through the Windows Control Panel) should not be modified.
This topic provides the following sections with information on Windows settings:
To recover from problems caused by changing Windows settings, you may have to reinstall the test set's system software using the Agilent Recovery System. |
You may change the following Windows settings or perform the administrative tasks (available from the Windows Control Panel) to suit your own personal preferences.
Before you change any Windows settings from the Windows desktop, you should exit the test set's application software. |

When shipped from the factory, the display configuration of the test set is optimized to try to ensure the best display performance for normal use of the test set's applications. As a result, any changes that you make to the display configuration (for example, modifying the Color scheme) could result in a degraded display environment for the test set's applications. Therefore, care should be taken before making any modifications to the test set's display settings.
| |
Modify any of the folder properties for folders with NFS sharing enabled.
Disable MouseKeys on the Mouse tab. Doing so disables use of the MouseKeys key on the test set's front panel.
Delete or modify the “Agilent-Only" user account. This account is required by Agilent for customer support purposes. |
In addition to the details in the previous section about Windows settings you must not change, the following list identifies other actions you must not take to ensure that the test set continues to operate correctly:
Do not add, delete, or modify hard-disk drive partitions.
Do not delete or modify Agilent registry entries.
Do not change the contents of any directories containing the name “Agilent”.
Do not stop any of the services enabled in the original factory configuration.
Do not uninstall any libraries, interfaces or programs included in the original factory configuration.
Do not modify any of the factory configured settings for Windows Services for UNIX.
