The test set incorrectly assigns itself two IP addresses based on the "LAN IP Address" setting in the test set - the IP address specified by the "LAN IP Address" setting and "LAN IP Address" + 1. Thus, the test set will respond to IP traffic directed to "LAN IP Address" and "LAN IP Address + 1". This may result in unexpected network behavior if another device on the network is also assigned to "LAN IP Address" + 1.
If you set LAN IP Address = 192.168.1.22, the Test Set will also respond to LAN IP Address = 192.168.1.23. This will result in unexpected network behavior if there is another device on your network set to LAN IP Address = 192.168.1.23.
Reserve both "LAN IP Address" and "LAN IP Address" + 1 for use by your test set:

Multi-Flow Packet Application provides multiple octet streams that can be used to carry octets between the access terminal and the access network. Each octet stream is carried by an RLP flow and RLP packets tagged with an RLPID that identifies the RLP flow. So Multi-Flow Packet Application provides a mechanism to define multiple application data flows which can be assigned priorities and associated with QoS profiles.
With Multi-Flow Packet Application, the test set allows up to 16 IP flows that map into 5 RLP flows on both the forward and reverse link. On the reverse link, these flows map into 4 RTCMAC Subtype 3 flows which can be configured by the users. For more information about parameters and configurations for Multi-Flow Packet Application please refer to:

This release includes all of the features and functionality present in the last pre-release firmware A.02 Beta Release - August 2005 as well as the following enhancements.
Mobile Equipment Identifier (MEID) is a new way to uniquely identify AT equipment. MEID is a 56-bit number that allows for a larger number of ATs to be identified than the existing ESN numbering system. MEID is a type of Hardware ID that is supported in the 1xEV-DO. See Hardware ID Type and Hardware ID for details.
It is to support an extension to the existing Band Class 0 that is being allocated in Japan. The forward link frequency range of US Cellular cell band is changed from 869 - 894 MHz to 860 - 894 MHz and the reverse link frequency range of US Cellular cell band is changed from 824 - 849 MHz to 815 to 849 MHz. See Cell Band .
It is to support an extension to the existing Band Class 0 that is being allocated in Japan. The channel range of US Cellular cell band is extended to include the channels of 1024 - 1323. See Channel .

This release includes all of the features and functionality present in the E1966A 1xEV-DO Terminal Test Application Release A.03 (see A.03.17 Release - January 2005 ). The unique features of the E6706A Lab Application since A.01.10 Release - April 2005 are indicated below.

When a test set emulating an IS-2000/IS-95 base station and another emulating an IS-856 (1xEV-DO) access network are synchronized on CDMA system time, you can perform the functional tests of the hybrid mode AT/MS. For details, see Hybrid Mode .
The CDMA system time is the time reference used by all IS-856 and IS-95/IS-2000 systems. The test set emulating an AN allows you to set the CDMA system time which are sent to the AT in the overhead messages ( Sync Message and SectorParameters Message ). For details, see CDMA System Time Parameters .
Multiple test sets either running the E6702B cdma2000 lab application or the E6706A 1xEV-DO lab application can be synchronized on CDMA system time. It is very useful for hybrid mode AT/MS tests. For details, see Multi-unit Synchronization .
The session timeout was changed from a fixed setting (3 minutes) to a user-settable parameter. This setting specifies the time period for which the test set has not heard from the AT before sending a SessionClose Message to the AT. For details, see Session Close .

Summary of GPIB command changes for this release: GPIB Changes for E6706A A.01.10 - April 2005
The DPA is an application layer protocol used in the actual 1xEV-DO network. See Session Application Type for details.
The data channel function allows you to use the test set as an IP router, exchanging packet data between a 1XEV-DO wireless device (such as an access terminal (AT)) and a packet switched network (such as an IP network) via a packet data connection (using DPA). The performance of data applications such as music download, interactive and multimedia applications can then be evaluated with a set of tools such as Data Throughout Monitor, Data Counters, etc.
By working with an external Mobile IP Simulator (MOB-IP-SIM) provided by the Software Concepts, Inc., the test set also supports Mobile IP based packet data connection.
Ping, a utility that provides a simple IP connection check, is also supported.
For details, see Data Channel .
With the protocol logging function, the test set can capture the signaling information exchanged between the test set and an access terminal, and then forward the captured information to a PC software referred to as the WPA (Wireless Protocol Advisor) for signaling analysis. For example, the Signal Link Protocol (SLP), Radio Link Protocol (RLP), Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP), Internet Protocol (IP) as well as the Test Application Protocol (TAP) can be decoded. For details, see Protocol Logging .
By control of the session negotiation for the PCCC, the PCCC attribute can be configured to follow the test set's specified value or the AT-requested value during session negotiation. This provides flexibility for AT test because it allows ATs to determine the PCCC value without having to know the valid PCCC values for each AT under test. For details, see Preferred Control Channel Cycle .
The IS-856 Test operating mode provides a way for measuring access terminal (AT) when it is not possible, or not desired, to communicate via over-the-air signaling with the access terminal (AT), but forward link stimulus and reverse link measurements are still needed. For details, see IS-856 Test Operating Mode .
The graphical access probe power measurement provides an intuitive bar graph results representing the access probe powers in addition to the numeric results. From the graph display, you can easily verify whether the AT sends the number of access probes as specified. Up to 60 access probes can be displayed at one time. For details, see Graphical Access Probe Power Measurement Description .
The data throughput monitor is provided to analyze data transfer rates under various RF and call processing conditions. For details, see Data Throughput Monitor .

Span and resolution bandwidth can now be set independently, new Detection Method. See Resolution Bandwidth and Frequency Span and Detection Method for details.
To generate faded forward channel signals with AWGN enabled, the test set requires a rear panel digital bus connection to an external PC running Baseband Studio software. See Digital Bus Information for reference information. This configuration supports the faded tests as specified in the C.S0033 test standard (for example, test 3.1.1.2.2).
